For those of you who have plenty of energy there are two floodlit tennis courts situated at the top of the resort. These can be booked for a small fee at the main hotel reception. Table tennis, volley ball and snooker, are all available within the resort.

Boat trips and fishing

Book a day on a boat from the harbour in Kalkan. They leave around 10.00am in the morning and sail around the bay stopping at different coves, ideal for snorkelling returning around 5.00pm.

Sit and relax whilst lunch is prepared for you under the boats canopy, sip your wine and look back at Kalkan sheltered at the foot of the towering Taurus mountains. You may also stop off at Mouse Island where all you will hear are the goat bells of the only beings that live on this Island. A fantastic day out for all!

How about a days fishing! You can ask to fish from the boat, or book a fishing trip. Either way if you enjoy fishing there are plenty of fish to catch. The one in the picture was actually purchased from a small Turkish fishing boat we came across on our daily boat trip. It did not cost very much to buy, cooked with fresh herbs and lemon from the market it made a superb evening meal.

Historical Sites

Throughout ancient history, the Lycians had always held a distinctive place among the various races of Anatolia. Locked away in their mountainous country, they had a fierce love of freedom and independence.
With its historical heritage sheltered within, Lycia is practically an open -air museum and is Anatolia's most mysterious region, a place where green forests surround lacy coves and shade the deep blue water.
As Kalkan is in the heart of Lycia it is ideally located to explore the many historical sites and places of great natural beauty.

Patara is situated on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey silhouetted in the foothills of the Taurus Mountains providing the perfect background to this beautiful and peaceful region.
A region boasting thousands of years of history, breathtaking scenery and hundreds of miles of unspoiled coastline makes this a must do place to visit, with its magnificent sandy wide beaches and crystal clear waters.
2000 years ago Patara was the largest and most important sea port of the Lycian civilisation . According to mythology, Apollo was born here and did you know that it is the birthplace of St. Nicholas (Father Christmas) in the 4th century?
The old city now forms part of a "protected area" along with the beach. This vast unblemished stretch of sand is still a "Turtle nesting area" and Patara has received the "Blue Flag" in recognition of its efforts to protect this environment.
Each year new and exciting discoveries are made; this year in fact one of the oldest lighthouses has been uncovered.

Historical and archaeological attractions nearby include Patara, with it's long sandy beach, Xanthos, and the Saklikent Gorge. Below is a photograph of Xanthos a short drive from Patara Prince resort.

Saklikent Gorge

Escape the heat of the day by walking through the cooling waters of Saklikent - one of the largest gorges in Europe.

Outside of and tucked within the gorge locals have set up small restaurants with seating areas on wooden platforms suspended just above the rushing waters. These are a great place to relax upon Turkish rugs and cushions with a beer under shady trees. Among other things on the menu, they offer delicious fresh trout. Outside of the gorge you will also find treehouse accommodation, small relaxed bars and river tubing. River tubing rides last from 45 minutes to about two hours, depending on which ride you join.

Jeep Safari

This tour is wonderful opportunity to see traditional, non-touristy Turkey high in the Taurus Mountains, away from the coastal heat. The misty peaks of the great Taurus Mountains, rushing streams and lush greenery offer excellent photo opportunities. A great outing for those interested in walking in the pastures of the Taurus Mountains highlands and learning about the semi-nomadic way of life that dominates the peaks all summer long.

Horse riding

Horse riding can be arranged in Patara and provides a delightful way
to explore the surrounding hills on horseback, catering for both
novices and experienced riders alike.

Ride in a land dotted with olive groves and the ancient site Patara, way up into the rough mountains with breathtaking views, swim in the clear blue waters and dry at the 18km long beach.

Either with an easy ride on a willing horse or with a frenetic gallop through endless green plains, horse riding is a wonderful way to cross blooming country side, deserted beach or trod on follow beaten paths.

The activities listed give you some idea of the varied holiday you could experience, these are but a few! You will find tour operaters offering many more from two day overnight stay tours travelling further into Turkey's vast lands to Para-gliding from Kas!
